to stand firmly on the edge of the universe

cheers to the new year. the whiskey trembles in our stomach leaving a burn of whats to come of the new year. it tells us how everything will be ok, or how we wished it was that way. how many times must it take for us to realize that the sky will never stop being grey. so many faces turned away in disgust, and hide behind their lust. leaving a trail of leaves from the bloody trees. why do we honor the night? when the sun falls below the horizon. why do we dance until the morning light? this is how we spend our days, when no ones watching, we do what we please. heres to the new year, i made an example out of myself. turning whiskey into water. heres to brand new days, where the sun sets and the moon dances all night. heres to the stage, when the curtain falls no ones paying attention but we are all panicing. its not till the end of the show that we are all freighten, i think its safe to say that the moon and the sun aren't on the same side, and if they ever crossed paths, we wouldn't have a chance tonight. there are certain hours in the day where i feel like im drifiting away from this city. the blood thickens in the deepest corners and i feel like i feel too much. cheers to a quite city struggling too hard for survival.
